Teddies for Loving Care

Laura Williams, Chief Executive at Tetbury Hospital Trust, was deeply touched when the hospital recently benefitted from the Teddies for Loving Care (TLC) initiative, managed locally by Freemason volunteers. TLC is aimed at emotionally supporting children needing emergency hospital treatment, sometimes for the first time.

Laura says: “I would like to say a big thank you to Gloucestershire Freemasons who have generously donated Teddies for Loving Care to our MIIU department at Tetbury Hospital Trust. The teddies are making a huge difference to our smaller visitors who quite often feel a bit scared, as they comfort and distract them when they are feeling poorly.  And better still, every child who receives a teddy gets to take it home. Supporting children with warmth and consideration gives them a positive experience in a healthcare setting and makes a world of difference when they need us again in the future. TLC really lives up to its name!
