Dr James Hampton
Qualified Caring Cross 1980.
After several years in hospital medicine, I moved over to General Practice in 1988 and ran a large practice in Bath until 2017.
During this time I was Bath rugby doctor from 2005-2017 and was also on the board of the CCG for 7 years, mainly involved in commissioning elective care.
In 1988 there was a limited vasectomy service. I had surgical experience and was asked to set up a service in BANES. I ran this until 2023--, undertaking approx 200 per year.
In addition I work for the Bristol vasectomy service- in year to April 2023 I undertook 410 for that service.
Since October 2023 I have been given practising rights at Tetbury Hospital and am currently doing 15-20 vasectomies per month.
I still do some GP locum work and have a busy medicolegal practice.
In my spare time I am renovating an old house, go to the gym, open water swim, when weather allows, and play golf -Handicap 6.
Dr Hampton carries out NHS and private patient vasectomies at Tetbury Hospital.
