Mr Sundaram treats NHS and private patients at Tetbury Hospital Trust.
He graduated from the University of Leeds Medical School in 1998 having also gained a BSc (Hons) in Biochemistry in 1995. After completing his house jobs in Leeds, he chose to specialise in spinal surgery and undertook two spinal fellowships at the world-famous Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham in 2009 and the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital in 2010.
Mr Sundaram was appointed as a Consultant Trauma, Orthopaedic & Spine Surgeon at Gloucestershire NHS Foundation Trust in 2010 and became Spine Lead in 2015. He undertakes more than 3,000 patient consultations a year, making him one of the most experienced spine surgeons in Gloucestershire, and has been recognised for his many achievements through three Clinical Excellence Awards, as well as being shortlisted for the People’s Choice Award and Team of the Year Award.
He works very closely with his 25 NHS consultant orthopaedic colleagues as well as the neurology and oncology specialists. He also maintains a close relationship with GPs and other healthcare professionals such as physiotherapists, chiropractors and osteopaths throughout Gloucestershire and neighbouring counties. He believes working as a team is in the patient’s best interest and promotes good recovery.
