Dr Paddy Clarke MBChB FRCA FFPM

Pain Management Consultant

Dr Clarke treats NHS patients at Tetbury Hospital Trust. He also delivers private patient pain injections for NHS patients who have previously had spinal injections.

Dr Clarke qualified at Liverpool University in 1987. Having spent time training in Liverpool, the Southwest and the Midlands, he became Assistant Professor at Stanford University. Between 1997 and 2013 he was a Pain Management Consultant at the Gloucester Royal Hospital.

Dr Clarke strongly believes a holistic approach to pain is the key to success. Pain is a multifactorial problem giving rise to functional difficulty. A treatment plan combining medication, physical therapy, psychological and interventional techniques will offer improvement in most cases.

Making a diagnosis is his most important consideration and he spends time talking to and examining the patient and organising any necessary investigations before tailoring his clinical approach for that individual.
