Mr Pandit began his medical career at University of Wales, Cardiff, where he obtained his primary medical qualification in 1988. He completed his ophthalmology training at Colchester, Essex; Torbay Hospital, Devon; Royal Eye infirmary, Plymouth, and Bristol Eye Infirmary.  He then undertook ophthalmology speciality training in Corneal and External Eye Diseases at the Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead, Surrey.   

He received a scholarship from the Wellcome Trust to research human tears at the Nuffield Laboratory of Ophthalmology and subsequently obtained a Master of Science degree from the University of Oxford in 2003.  

Mr Pandit has over 25 years of experience in ophthalmology, with specialised experience in refractive correction, laser refractive surgery, in the past, and now lens replacement surgery for presbyopia, myopia, hypermetropia and astigmatism. He also has a special interest in the treatment of dry eyes and ocular surface inflammation.   

He is currently serving as a NHS Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at the Great Western Hospital, Swindon.
