Due to increase demand for our services we need to grow our team to be able to continue to deliver excellent individualised patient care. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a RGN Ward Nurse to join the Day Surgery Unit team at Tetbury Hospital on a Permanent, full time basis – 37.5 hours per week.

The Day Surgery department is a small busy unit comprising of one operating theatre, anaesthetic room, and first / second stage recovery areas. Demand for theatre space is growing therefore we need to grow our team to support demand.

The Opportunity

The post holder’s prime responsibility will be to work alongside the rest of the DSU team, to perform the tasks of a Registered General Nurse in admitting and caring for patients pre and post procedure.

The post holder will be an ambassador for the Trust, delivering care in an efficient, patient focused and professional way.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an experienced nurse who will already be first level registered, and able to demonstrate a good level of clinical skills and up to date knowledge.

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

• Excellent interpersonal skills

• A passion for providing first class care

• Evidence of working collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team

• Ability to work as part of a team in a collaborative way

An additional teaching and assessing qualification, audit skills and experience of delivering change management initiatives would be an advantage.

The Package

We can offer flexible hours up to 37.5 hours per week, with an hourly pay rate of between £ 12.56 - £ 15.62 P/hr. This role is a Grade I (NHS Band 5 equivalent). The Hospital offers staff benefits which include pension scheme (continuation in the NHS pension is possible subject to pension rules) and a starting full-time holiday entitlement of 25 days holiday (plus Bank holidays). A job share arrangements would be considered where two applicants are successful and their total hours amount to 37.5 hours, therefore applications are welcome from candidates seeking part time / job share hours.
