Vacancy – Medical Secretary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Medical Secretary to join the friendly, dedicated, and professional secretarial team at Tetbury Hospital.
The position is available for 30 hours per week Monday to Friday to cover the office in the afternoons. Flexibility with the number and pattern of hours may be considered.

The successful candidate will be providing a comprehensive medical secretarial and administrative service to the consultants and teams at the Hospital. The successful candidate will work as part of a team of four providing support for each other and ensuring continuity of the service whilst also acting as a point of liaison between patients, Consultants, GPs, other staff, and outside agencies. The specialties that require cover are cardiology, urology, respiratory, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, ENT, general surgery and vascular.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for this role will:
• Be highly organised and motivated
• Have excellent interpersonal skills
• Have a sound knowledge of Microsoft applications
• Have excellent keyboard skills
• Ideally have Audio typing experience
• Ideally have a Working knowledge of Trak-care, our patient software system (preferred but not essential)
The successful candidate must be able to use their own initiative but also work as part of a multidisciplinary team. The role holder will be required to attend all appropriate team meetings and mandatory training sessions.
We can offer flexible hours up to 30 hours per week, with a starting hourly pay rate of between £ 10.94 –£ 12.33 P/ hr. A pay review is pending for this role. This role is a Grade P (NHS Band 4 equivalent). The Hospital offers staff benefits which include pension scheme (continuation in the NHS pension is possible subject to pension rules) and a starting full-time holiday entitlement of 25 days holiday (plus Bank holidays).
