An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team at Tetbury Hospital Trust.

Due to increase in demand for our services we need to grow our team to be able to continue to deliver excellent individualised patient care. An exciting opportunity has therefore arisen for a Theatre Practitioner to join the team at Tetbury Hospital on a permanent, part time basis, up to 27 hours per week.

The Day Surgery Department is a small busy unit comprising of one operating theatre, anaesthetic room and first/second stage recovery areas. We provide multiple surgical specialities (ophthalmology, gynaecology, orthopaedics and pain management to name a few).

The post holder prime responsibilities is to perform all the tasks of the a registered ODP/Theatre Nurse in the scrub, theatre runner and recovery/anaesthetics, follow all checks and procedures as laid down in the National and Trust Policy. The post holder is expect to carry out all relevant forms of care without direct supervision whilst maintain a safe working environment. There may be opportunities for further hours in the procedure room and Outpatients.

We are looking for an experienced Trained Theatre Nurse who will be able to demonstrate a good level of clinical skills and up to date in knowledge. The role will be predominately base in theatre, therefore scrub skill are essential and the ability to provide assistance to all disciplines will be beneficial.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Excellent interpersonal skills
• A passion for providing first class care
• Evident of working collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team
• Ability to work as part of a team in a collaborative way
• Be flexible to their approach to work

An additional teaching assessing qualification, audit skills and experience of delivery change management initiatives would be an advantage. Previous experience in our surgical specialities would be beneficial, training can be provided in-house.

We can offer flexible hours up to 27 hours per week. The pay rate will be determined, based on the skills and experience offered by the successful candidate.

The Hospital offers staff benefits which includes a discretionary bonus scheme, pension scheme (continuation in the NHS pension is possible subject to pension rules) and a starting full-time holiday entitlement of 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays).

A job share arrangements would be considered where two applicants are successful and their total weekly hours amount to 27 hours, therefore applications are welcome from candidates seeking part-time job share hours.
