An opportunity has arisen for a Booking Office Administrator to join the team at Tetbury Hospital on a permanent, part time basis – 20 hours per week.

Do you like working on computers, are you confident on the telephone talking to members of the public? Do you work in a logical manner, would you be able to talk to doctors and nurses to ensure the Hospital has enough outpatient clinics and theatre lists running to manage the number of patients who wish to come to the Trust for their consultation and treatment? We are looking for a booking office administrator to join our busy administrative team, working either four days per week 12pm to 5pm or five days 1pm to 5pm.
If successful you will provide a call centre function to support patients in booking their healthcare appointments. You will support the administrative functions within the booking office and, when appropriate, the wider organisation. You will Provide manager with information regarding booking trends and escalating when additional capacity is required or when an outpatient clinic is not being utilised efficiently. To monitor and maintain waiting lists, ensuring adherence to the NHS Charter and local and National access standards (e.g. 18 weeks referral to treatment, operation rebooked within 28days for non-clinical cancellations)
The Ideal Candidate
The role holder should be able to remain professional and sensitive to customer needs at all times, you will be a strong and effective communicator, with the ability to work efficiently in a busy environment.
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
• Excellent communication skills
• Have Maths and English GCSE (or equivalent)
• Have excellent computer and keyboard literacy
• Have excellent attention to detail
Previous experience as a medical administrator with knowledge of the E-referral system is desirable, however, full training will be provided.
We can offer flexible hours up to 20 hours per week, with a starting hourly pay rate of between £ 9.76 –£ 10.79 P/ hr. A pay review is pending for this role. This role is a Grade S (NHS Band 3 equivalent). The Hospital offers staff benefits which include pension scheme (continuation in the NHS pension is possible subject to pension rules) and a starting full-time holiday entitlement of 25 days holiday (plus Bank holidays).
