Mr Gornall treats NHS and private patients at Tetbury Hospital Trust.
Mr Gornall was appointed as a consultant gynaecological surgeon by Gloucestershire Hospitals Trust in 2001. He studied at Manchester University, undertook surgical training and was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons. He then specialised in gynaecology, training at the University Hospitals of Manchester, Southampton and Hammersmith/St Mary’s London.
Mr Gornall’s original research into the genetic causes of ovarian and breast cancer gained him a DM. He is a dedicated gynaecological specialist and in addition to managing common gynaecological conditions has a special interest in the investigation and treatment of potential uterine and ovarian tumours. He is one of the most experienced surgeons nationally performing total laparoscopic hysterectomy, and along with 150 national specialists, is formally accredited by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists to undertake complex gynaecological cancer surgery.
Mr Gornall is a trained colposcopist and can investigate abnormal cervical smears and manage precancer changes. In addition to his clinical duties, he is Medical Director for the Three Counties Cancer Network providing cancer care for the populations of Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and South Worcestershire.
